The test is taken on a motorcycle of between 75cc and 120cc. On passing, this licence allows the holder to ride a motorcycle of up to 125cc (11kW/14.6bhp).
The test is taken on a motorcycle of
between 120cc and 125cc and capable of at least 100kph (62.5 mph). The A2 licence restricts the holder to riding machines of less that 25kW (33bhp) for two years, it then freely upgrades to category A status.

This is the full licence entitlement that llows the holder to ride any motorcycle. It is gained after the two years restriction (see above), or may be taken via the Direct Access Scheme (DAS) by candidates
over 21 years of age. The training and test must be taken on a machine of greater than 35kW (46.6bhp).
Where a practical driving test is passed on an automatic motorcycle, the licence gained will be restricted to automatic or semi-automatic machines only.
